The Consumer Electronics Show will open in Las Vegas on Tuesday, January 10th but it hasn’t stopped the rumors from starting on what to expect this year. Press conferences will dominate the agenda on Monday but here’s a preview on what’s expected to be introduced, so far, this week, according to CNET.
Toshiba no-glasses 3D TV
Toshiba plans to launch a no-glasses 3D TV in the U.S. during the first quarter. The TV is already available in Europe and Japan.
Vizio Enters the PC Market
After its successful foray in the TV business with its low-cost models, Vizio is ready to take on the PC-market. The company will introduce laptops and all-in-one desktops in the spring.
OLPC’s XO 3.0 tablet for $100
The One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) organization has already distributed more than 2.4 million of its $100 laptop to children in developing nations since 2007. The nonprofit foundation will now offer a $100 touch-screen tablet, which will be introduced this week.
55-inch LG OLED TV
OLED (organic light-emitting diode) technology is used in phones, but it hasn’t made its way to big-screen TVs. LG is about to change this with its 55-inch OLED TV by year’s end. It will come with a price between $8,000 to $10,000, but viewers will get a pencil-thin display with improved black levels over plasma TVs.

Nikon D4
Last week, the D4 became official. Its 6,000 Nikon (NINOY) D3S replacement brings “improved autofocus, increased durability, better performance, and more-competitive video capabilities,” according to CNET.
New Samsung Monitors
Samsung’s new TB750 series will bring a 27-inch monitor, a great design and numerous features such as MHL support (enabling connection to tablets and phones) and Intel Wireless Display.
It is also a 1080p HDTV.
Nokia Lumia 900
Nokia’s (NYSE:NOK) LTE-ready Windows Phone 7 has the new Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 models with the Lumia 900 not far behind. It is rumored to launch by AT&T (NYSE:T) in March as the inaugural LTE-powered 4G Windows Phone.
Skype video phone – TelyHD
The new $250 TelyHD can turn a TV into a Skype-compatible video phone. Similar products are expected to be introduced this week at CES.
Lenovo Upgrades with Thunderbolt, dual CPUs
Lenovo (LNVGY) is updating its ThinkPad line this year with various updates. They include a dual-CPU design for its X1 that has a battery-saving media mode. Its ThinkPad Edge will become first non-MacBook to support a Thunderbolt connection.
Velocity Micro Shine: HD Pico projector
This pico projector has a 720p-capable video projector that fits in your hand. Priced at $400, the 4-inch wide Velocity Micro Shine has 1,280 x 768-pixel WXGA resolution. It weighs 9 ounces.
Samsung’s HW-E550 soundbar
The HW-E550 works as either a soundbar or a traditional 2.1-speaker. Options include a horizontal soundbar, by unsnapping the left/right sides, mounting them vertically to the bases. This you’ll have a pair of tallboy speakers.
LG’s Google TV
LG will enable users to choose between Google TV (NASDAQ:GOOG) or its own Smart TV interface to access online content.
